BMW Not Running? Maybe Your Car Has Bunnies! August European San Diego BMW Diagnostics

BMW Diagnostics are never boring at August European, a favorite local San Diego BMW service maintenance shop. A BMW was recently towed in with an unusual problem due to sitting on a customer’s yard for 6 months.

Brian Sanders, owner of San Diego based August European, recalls the humorous event. “The car was towed in. It had a ‘no start’ condition due to an unknown problem so BMW diagnostics were called for. Having sat for 6 months we knew it had also not been properly stored so we were prepared to perform appropriate BMW service maintenance.

After running a BMW diagnostics program to find the main problem, we got under the car and started working. When our lead BMW mechanic removed part of the engine three little bunnies popped out! They got loose and ran all over the shop for days before we could catch them all. They were joined with their mother and safely released back into the wild. As strange as this sounds, we frequently see similar situations like this one all the time.”

Sanders went on the say that although this is the first time they’ve found bunnies, it is quite common to find mice and rats that get up in the vehicles because people leave them sit unattended for long periods of time. Even leaving a vehicle sit for as short as a week can be long enough for a family of furry critters to move in.

“Although some may find these little critters endearing and the story humorous there is a down side. Rats, mice and other small animals can cause major damage to a BMW in a few short days of under hood habitation. They chew through wires, eat rubber components and leave corrosive dropping on everything. Such damage can be difficult and costly to repair,” he warned.

Regular BMW service maintenance from August European in San Diego not only saves time and money but also cute little furry critters, especially when BMW diagnostics are involved. Most BMW diagnostics are usually done in under an hour by the BMW service maintenance experts at August European in San Diego, CA.
